GIN Maritime Operations is a company fully owned by the Genova Industrie Navali (GIN) Group, established in 2024 to expand and strengthen the group's activities in the shipbuilding and industrial plant sectors.The company's first and most significant project was the acquisition of the semi-submersible barge Arcalupa, built in 2020 at the Cimolai shipyards.
Arcalupa is a semi-submersible barge with exceptional dimensions, approximately 60% larger than standard barges. It has a weight of 3,800 tons, increasing to 4,200 tons with the addition of floating towers, and measures 127.2 meters in length, 31.5 meters in width, and 6.5 meters in height.
These features make it highly versatile and multifunctional.With the installation of floating towers, Arcalupa can submerge its deck up to 6.5 meters, reaching a maximum draft of 13 meters. This allows it to function as a floating dock, capable of launching structures weighing up to 9,800 tons. A unique feature that significantly expands its range of applications. This new asset represents a strategic step for the group, opening up new opportunities in maritime-industrial operations and engineering solutions for logistics.
